Don’t use . or space in your LoadRunner script name

While browsing StackOverflow I came across the following post about LoadRunner not replacing parameters in replay.

I was looking at the problem and couldn’t see what was wrong. I then notice that it had been solved by the orginal poster. He says that once he renamed his script not to use a . or a space then the LoadRunner problem went away.

I know that you can’t use . or space in the LoadRunner action name as the name has to be a valid filename for a .c progam. I noticed that the script name is used in the combined.c file which includes all the includes and actions file, so I guess it needs to be valid as well. Strange that if you use a . or space that you do not get a compile error… but stranger things happen in the C compiler.
