Playing back Jmeter through Fiddler

Hi

I wanted to playback my Jmeter script through the debugging proxy Fiddler. This was a lazy way to pass on the requests through the corporate proxy for the clients site. They configured their proxy via a .pac file so it was simpler to start fiddler. Fiddler will automatically read the .pac for the default browser and connect to it. All I had to do was to route the Jmeter traffic to the fiddler proxy. This was done when starting Jmeter from the command line.

jmeter.bat -H 127.0.0.1 -P 8888

The above uses the default config for the Fiddler proxy.

  1. I am getting “An error occurred: Unknown arg: ûH
    errorlevel=1
    Press any key to continue . . .” when i entered this command. I tried giving all commands like localhost, 127.0.0.1 or my ip address. is not working. Need help

    1. Make sure fiddler is listening on port 8888, this can be checked by Tools -> Fiddler Options -> Connections (tab)

      The Fiddler listens on port is shown in the dialogue, you may try change this to another port and changing the -P option in the command line to the new port number.

  2. I tried the above suggested options, still getting below error while launching the jmeter through cmd.
    “An error occurred: Unknown arg: ûH
    errorlevel=1
    Press any key to continue . . .”

    Appreciate, your help on this.
